The Tron AIS-SART stands out for its compact size and advanced technical capabilities. Its housing matches the Jotron radar-SART model Tron SART20, measuring 251 mm in height and weighing just 450g.
Technologically, the Tron AIS-SART is pre-programmed by the manufacturer with a unique ID code and uses an internal GPS antenna to receive position data, which is then transmitted via the AIS channels (AIS A and AIS B) on the maritime VHF band.
Certified with the “Wheel Mark” under the European Council Directive 96/98/EC and the 2011/75/EU amendment, the Tron AIS-SART meets GMDSS standards for search and rescue.
Both the Tron AIS-SART and the Tron SART20 are recognized as “search and rescue locating devices” under the IMO SOLAS Amendment in Resolution MSC.256(84), allowing ship owners flexibility to select either product as specified by SOLAS Chapter III, Regulation 2.2.
