General overview

Designed to reduce installation, time and cost

These log systems are designed with a minimalist approach, reducing installation complexity and minimizing modifications to the vessel’s hull. The advanced all-in-one transducer captures critical parameters like Speed Through Water (STW), Speed Over Ground (SOG), and Depth through a single hull penetration, streamlining both installation and maintenance.

For installations requiring only Speed Through Water (STW), we offer smaller, cost-effective options. With a wide product range, Hostmost ensure the right solution to meet your specific needs. A notable addition to our lineup is Easy Tank, an approved solution that eliminates the need for a sea valve, simplifying the process even further. More about Easy Tank further below

Right: An all-in-one transducer unit for measurement of STW (Speed Through Water), SOG (Speed Over Ground), as well as Depth.

Robust and accurate speed measurements

Hostmost takes pride in the measurement accuracy of these logs, which utilize high-frequency sound waves and Acoustic Correlation to calculate speed. This robust technique resists interference and integrates seamlessly with critical onboard systems, such as radar, autopilot, positioning systems, and fuel optimization tools, providing reliable Speed Through Water (STW) and Speed Over Ground (SOG) data.

A key advantage of Acoustic Correlation is its independence from water temperature and salinity, reducing the need for calibration. Our logs consistently deliver accurate measurements, regardless of where vessels operate globally.

Left: Our logs send out high-frequency sound waves and record the reflected signals through a transducer. The signals are then processed by a correlation analysis algorithm to achieve a highly accurate result.

For any possible demand

Sal Navigation offers a range of combination log systems and pure speed log systems.

Quality and tradition

These logs are the result of decades of research, development, and innovation. With a strong focus on reliability and safety, we control the design and production of all components, including the crucial bottom parts, transducers, and circuit boards.

Easy Tank – installation made easier

Easy Tank offers a cost-effective and equally safe alternative to traditional tanks and sea valves for Speed Through Water (STW) transducers. This closed-ended installation, approved by DNV, eliminates the need for additional safety measures like watertight compartments or elevated cable piping, as it’s fully water-tight, including the cable, providing greater installation flexibility.

Replacing the transducer is simple and can be done from inside the hull while a diver seals the hole from the outside.

Adapters for speed log retrofit

Our wide range of high-quality conversion adapters ensures a seamless, cost-effective upgrade from old speed log systems to new SAL Speed Logs. Virtually any brand can be replaced without the need for dry-docking or divers, simplifying the entire process.
