Sales Associate

Support clients by providing product expertise and ensuring a smooth purchasing process for marine technology. Drive sales and build strong customer relationships.

As a Sales Associate, you will play a vital role in promoting and selling Hostmost’s products and services. Your primary responsibilities will include responding to requests for quotations (RFQs), securing orders, drafting purchase orders (POs), creating sales orders (SOs), and invoicing. Additionally, you’ll be utilizing Microsoft systems such as Outlook, MS Teams, SharePoint, and Business Central to streamline communication and sales processes.

Responsibilities:

1) Familiarization:

  • Become familiar with Hostmost organization structure, including the duties and responsibilities of the other team members.
  • Familiarize with our business relationships to avoid conflict or incorrect information disclosure.
  • Learn about our customers, their needs and their operations.
  • Become familiar with the products, functionality and prices.

2) RFQ Management:

  • Respond promptly to RFQs from potential clients.
  • Gather necessary information to prepare accurate and competitive quotes.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure the proposed solutions meet customer requirements.

3) Order Acquisition:

  • Become familiar with the order processing system.
  • Accurately process orders in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure clear communication with all parties such as suppliers, customers, ships’ agents, and any other stakeholders.
  • Details such as ETA, ETD, Delivery Locations and other important information must be clearly communicated.

4) Document Preparation:

  • Draft documents such as quotations, sales orders, purchase orders, draft invoices, and shipping documents ensuring accuracy of information.
  • Coordinate with logistics and inventory teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Follow company standard e-filing system for all sales and service documents.

5) Systems Utilization:

  • Use M365 applications for communications and sharing documents.
  • Familiarize yourself with all other Hostmost software applications.

6) Product Knowledge and Training:

  • Stay informed about the latest marine electronics products, features, and industry trends.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance your understanding of the products you sell.

7) Active Sales (Under the guidance of Senior Sales Teams):

  • Visit customers in-person to promote products and services.
  • Conduct customer business reviews to hear constructive feedback.
  • Attend conferences and industry events as reasonably needed.

8) Professionalism:

  • Handling of incoming & outgoing calls after office hours when urgent.
  • Ensuring that all sales activities comply with Hostmost Code of Conduct.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1) Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional coursework in business, sales, or marine technology is a plus).

2) Skills

  • English proficiency is a must, and local language dialects are considered a strong asset. Examples include Mandarin, Cantonese, French, Portuguese, or Spanish.
  • Basic understanding of marine electronics and/or marine industry.
  • Sense of urgency and logical problem solving.

Career Path:

As a Sales Associate, you can progress to more senior roles, such as Senior Sales Associate, Sales Team Leader, Assistant Sales Manager and eventually Sales Manager – based on your expertise and performance. To advance to more senior roles, you must show a better understanding of our business partners, products, and business processes. More senior roles will require more frequent visits to customers, product presentations, and training new staff members.
