Over the past two weeks, Hostmost Canada’s YDK Division hosted the 2024 YDK Product Training in Camas, WA, USA, with around 50 engineers from Canada, the USA, and South America attending.
The training provided engineers with the skills and knowledge to support YDK products, including Autopilot, Gyrocompass, EM log, and the new Paperless Course Recorder. This aims to improve navigation and operational efficiency for YDK product users with fleets trading across the Americas.
Since late 2022, Hostmost has been the YDK distributor in the Americas, holding two major training sessions in 2023 and 2024 to qualify around 100 engineers. This includes support in countries like Brazil, Panama, Mexico, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, and Chile, ensuring satisfactory support for YDK product users.
At Hostmost, we are dedicated to enhancing YDK service support, continuously improving our skills to provide excellent service to YDK product users.
Hosted by Maritec Pte Ltd, A member of CTI Group, and Innospec Fuel Specialties, the event brought together ship managers, owners, and industry leaders for an afternoon full of insights on fuel compliance, biofuels, and emissions… followed by an evening cocktail sesh to reconnect and share perspectives.
These gatherings serve more than just presentations; they strengthen connections, refresh relationships, and bring new faces into the mold. Staying informed and engaged with industry trends keeps us all steering forward together.
Special appreciation to speakers, Mr. Alvin Lee, Ms. Helen Ong, Mr. Tan Gan Hong, Ms. Josephine Goh, and Mr. Martin Chew, whose expertise on everything from compliance to biofuel risks made navigating today’s challenges a bit smoother.
Here’s to keeping up the momentum and carrying forward the same focus and connection that made this event worthwhile.
Our Shanghai team recently took part in first-aid training, learning critical skills like CPR and bandaging to prepare for real-life emergencies. These aren’t just drills—they’re immersive, hands-on simulations designed to not only ensure our team is fully rigged to respond swiftly and confidently in any situation, but also to strengthen communication and foster 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠.
By working together in these scenarios, our team enhances their ability to safeguard colleagues, clients, and partners alike. As fierce advocates of 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲, we know that when danger looms and crises strike, every second counts, which is why we take these sessions very seriously.
At Hostmost, it’s more than just exemplary service from our engineers and world-class products—it’s about being ready to weather any storm, protecting the people we serve every step of the way.
Our recent 𝐘𝐃𝐊 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐏𝐓-900 training last month in Shanghai gathered engineers from industry leaders like Westgold, CST Trading, and Cosco MEEC. Partnering with these companies keeps Hostmost at the forefront of maritime tech, fostering shared expertise.
Hands-on demonstrations covered system integration, fuel-saving features like 𝐁𝐍𝐀𝐂𝐂 and 𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐏, and troubleshooting. Engineers gained practical knowledge of PT-900 operations, ensuring efficiency and confidence in the system’s capabilities.
Refresher courses are key, as the PT-900 is a vital tool for safe navigation. Regular updates help our team master the latest features, prevent technical issues, and respond quickly to unexpected challenges. This not only improves ship performance but also ensures compliance with evolving maritime standards.
Hostmost invests in keeping engineers sharp, ensuring our clients and partners, like YDK, trust us for top-tier service. This continual development of technical skills reinforces our reputation for excellence.
Our commitment to the maritime industry extends beyond business cos' we understand the critical importance of preserving the marine environments we rely on. Armed with grabber sticks and an eco-warrior attitude, we hauled ourselves to East Coast for our second #CSR beach cleanup last week, gathering bags full of bottles, plastic wrappers, Styrofoam, discarded fishing lines, and a whole lot of rubbish that doesn't belong in our oceans.
Just like the starfish story reminds us that small actions matter ⭐, every piece of litter removed is a step toward #safeguarding the oceans that sustain our industry and communities. Together, we're ensuring a cleaner, healthier future for all.
